Two days later, Ashley met her mother from the train station. They and Danny than made their way to the hall where the ceremony was taking place. Climbing into her gown and mortar board, Ashley broke the news to her mum about moving to the US. Worried at first, her mother settled into the idea quite quickly, just stopping once to warn Danny not to hurt her daughter.

Once the ceremony was over all the graduates made their way to the graduation party. As the glasses of champagne were passed around and toasts were being made, Danny pulled out a ring box from his pocket. "Ashley, I know we haven't known each other long and we've had our ups and downs, but I thought I'd buy you the best present I could think of." Opening the box he spoke four special words. "Will you marry me?" Nodding yes Ashley raised her glass, and proposed a toast, "to new beginnings."
